About the Pet Sitters

Connecticut Pet Sitter, LLC was established in April of 2010 by Christina Boling, whose goal is to provide exercise focused pet care to dogs, cats, and all other animals while their owners are away for any length of time. Connecticut Pet Sitter focuses on using a combination of exercise and positive reinforcement training to provide both mental and physical stimulation to the animals in our care.

Animal care is not only my job- it is also my life and my passion. As a child, I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, chickens, hermit crabs, fish, even parrots, and my neighbors had cows, pigs, goats, horses, emu, and many other types of farm animals. I also regularly attended zoo club, where I gained hands-on experience with boas, pythons, armadillos, and a variety of exotic wildlife. I spent my time studying countless animal textbooks and dreamt of someday becoming a wildlife rehabilitator.

I have truly grown into my passion for animals. My experiences include volunteering for Urban Wildlife, a rehab center for orphaned and injured raccoons and other small mammals. I spent a year with the Connecticut Humane Society where I exercised and socialized the dogs in their care, as well as participated in the Shelter Dog Training Program working with the more difficult cases of dogs that needed extra attention or training in order to be considered for adoption. I have done work for Sunshine Golden Retriever Rescue, The Simon Foundation, Connecticut Cat Connection, and Glen Highland Farm's Sweet Border Collie Rescue. I assisted with cage cleaning at Wind Over Wings, a rehabilitation facility for injured and imprinted birds of prey. I also worked as a grooming assistant and dog trainer in a corporation setting for two years.

I am currently an active volunteer for the Dog Rescue Railroad, a collaborative transport system that brings homeless dogs from rural high-kill shelters to foster homes where they have a greater chance of being adopted. I run Mosaic Mousery, a small breeding project that I began to produce healthy mice with optimal structure and vibrant coat color. I also have a significant amount of experience in positive reinforcement training for dogs and occasionally offer private lessons.

One of my biggest accomplishments was the founding of Performance Dog Rescue for herding breeds with performance potential. I successfully placed over thirty dogs and cats in a two year period and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I hope to continue on my path of founding a 501c organization specifically for performance dogs.

I live in Windsor, CT with three dog, two cats, and an assortment of small animals that includes mice, rats, guinea pigs, boas, and pythons.

Richard Jones

Richard Jones is a wonderful addition to the Connecticut Pet Sitter mission of offering exercise focused pet care.

Richard has worked with animals of all types since childhood but specializes in dogs. His passion for motiviational and positive dog training carries over into our philosophy of animal care. Before joining Connecticut Pet Sitter he gained experience working with a large variety of dogs at a crate-free boarding and daycare facility. Richard also participated in an internship program at a police K9 training center. He currently offers private training sessions through his business RJ K-9 and assists with classes at Tails U Win under APDT trainer Leslie Nelson.

Richard lives in Granby, CT with his rescued companion, Memphis. Memphis is a hound mix who Richard says has taught him the value of using patient and positive training methods. Richard and Memphis participate in several dogs sports, including agility, disc, obedience, scent detection, and tracking.
